Frequently Asked Questions

Do batteries come included?

No — batteries are required and sold separately. Each alarm unit typically requires 2 × AAA; the wireless receiver requires 4 × AAA. Standard Duracell or Energizer alkaline batteries give the best overnight performance. Rechargeable AAA batteries (Eneloop, etc.) also work and reduce running costs across a season.

What is the wireless receiver range?

Wireless range is typically 80–100m in open conditions. In bankside vegetation or near structures, expect reliable range of 40–70m — sufficient for any standard carp fishing swim. The receiver alerts you by LED + sound to the specific rod channel.

Will they give false alarms in wind or moving water?

Yes — but this is why each alarm has an individual sensitivity dial. Turn sensitivity down in windy or flowing water conditions to eliminate false bleeps from line movement. In calm still water, maximum sensitivity detects even the lightest liner or indication. Takes 2–3 minutes of fine-tuning at the start of each session to dial in perfectly.

Are the Lixada alarms truly waterproof for overnight sessions in rain?

The alarms are designed for sustained outdoor use in wet conditions — rain, splash, and heavy bankside damp. Keep the receiver inside your bivvy or under a brolly. After each session, wipe connections dry before storing to prevent corrosion.

What rod rest or bank stick sizes are compatible?

The adjustable clip fits standard bank sticks and rod pod front rests from 8mm to 16mm diameter. Compatible with Fox, Korda, Daiwa, Nash, and most universal pod systems without any adapter.

What is the difference between the set sizes available?

The set comes in configurations for different rod setups. A 3 or 4-alarm set covers a 3 or 4-rod carp setup — all alarms pair with the included receiver. If you fish with more rods, you can add individual alarms from the same range (they use the same frequency channel system).
