Yes, but stay within sheltered coastal areas and bays — not open ocean. The Solar Marine 2M is rated for calm to moderate water (lakes, rivers, estuaries, sheltered inlets). Always check weather conditions before launch. Rinse with fresh water after every saltwater trip.
What size motor can I attach?
The reinforced transom supports electric motors up to 30 lbs of thrust and gasoline engines up to 3.5 HP. Do not exceed these limits — oversized motors stress the transom seams. Motors are not included and must be purchased separately.
How long does it take to inflate?
With the included foot pump, plan on 8–12 minutes to inflate all three chambers to the correct pressure. If you have an electric pump (sold separately), you can cut that to 3–4 minutes. Always check pressure with a gauge before launching.
Can I stand up in it to fish?
Not recommended. The inflatable floor provides stability for seated fishing but is not designed for standing. For the most stable experience, use the included seat boards and keep your weight centered and low.
What if I get a puncture on the water?
The 3-chamber design is your safety net — a single puncture won't sink you. The two remaining tubes keep the boat afloat while you paddle to shore. Once on land, the included repair kit patches most punctures in under 5 minutes. For larger tears, contact us for warranty assistance.
